[Purchase & WIWT]: Miu Miu

After a wait filled with much excitement, my Miu Miu clogs arrived yesterday.

I wore them out today, with this outfit:

Love Song for Platform Shoes

I’ve always loved platform shoes, from huge stompy boots with a brick-like platform underneath, to platformed wedges, to high platforms with even higher heels. So, I guess it’s no surprise that I absolutely adore the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2010 shoes – the platforms and heels are almost impossibly high, and the combination of colours and patterns is fantastic.

These last ones are my favourite by far.  I fell in love with them after seeing them in a 2-page spread advert in British Vogue.  Walking in these shoes would be a worthy challenge!

Try and walk all over me and I’ll dance all over you-oo-ooh

Imagine the relaxed glamour of a Southern California boardwalk – so says TommyHilfiger.co.uk, and it sure is a great way to describe the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Fabrics are light and flowing, prints are pale and delicate, and colours are generally the staple red and blue. In general, I prefer my clothes bold and bright, but there’s something about the Spring/Summer collection that just caught my eye – perhaps the fact that the looks are simple and stylish, with the resulting outfits looking almost effortless.

The Ashley Blouse has a fantastic shape – I can just imagine wearing it on a summer evening.


My favourite piece by far just so happens to be one of the boldest – the Colourblocking Skirt. It’s also available in much more muted colours (beiges and white, if my memory serves me right), but I think this skirt would provide a great contrast if paired with one of the more delicate blouses.
